Friday Night Fish Fry Paleo Style

One of the wonderful things about living here on Hilton Head Island is the access to wild caught seafood. The fishing member of the household at chez lcp spent Friday afternoon at the lagoon at Fish Haul Creek and came home with this 23″ spot tail bass (redfish).

I dusted the fillets with Tony C’s and pan fried them in some ghee. I put some cubed butternut squash in the oven to roasted before the filleting process began. Nothing fancy – just tossed in melted ghee and coconut oil and sprinkled with pink Himalayan sea salt.

Hi! I did a yahoo search for Hilton Head, paleo and this blog post came up. :) I will be visiting HH in two weeks and am following the Aip diet. Can you recommend any restaurants in the area that might be safe for me to try out? Thanks!

Neo is one of my favorite local restaurants. It’s a farm to table restaurant featuring products sourced within 90 miles and yummy grassfed beef and pastured pork. The chef has gluten free items marked on the menu and the staff is very knowledgeable about ingredients. It’s just over the bridge in Bluffton, an easy trip from anywhere on the island.
